Fresh Lock Installation of a deadbolt locksmith on a Residential Door in Edina, MN
We recently completed a fresh deadbolt lock installation on a residential door in Edina, Minnesota. The customer wanted to improve security by adding a deadbolt to their door, and we handled the entire installation from A to Z.
A fresh installation is different from a standard lock replacement because it requires creating new holes in the door and frame to properly fit the lock.(in this case it was a wood door)
Since there was no existing deadbolt, we used specialized tools to measure, drill, and chisel the necessary openings for a secure and professional installation.
The process included:
- Measuring and marking the correct location and position for the lock
- Using a hole saw to drill precise openings for the deadbolt and latch in the door.
- Adjusting the space for the latch plate to sit right with the door
- Installing and aligning the lock for smooth operation
- Testing the lock to ensure proper function and security
